Students of all official undergraduate and master’s degrees at the USC will be able to carry out external curricular and extracurricular academic internships in the facilities of companies, institutions, entities and organizations associated with Bioga, the Galician Life Sciences Business Technology Cluster.
This offer, open to students from both campuses, was presented this Thursday at the Faculty of Sciences of Lugo, the center promoting the initiative, in an event in which the deputy for the Lugo Campus, Antonio Álvarez Rodríguez, and the president of Bioga, José Manuel López Vilariño, participated. The center was also represented by the dean of the Faculty of Sciences, Asteria Luzardo.
The internships, regulated in an agreement with a validity of four years, which can be extended, may be curricular, included in the study plans; leading to the preparation of the Final Degree and/or Final Master’s Thesis; or extracurricular or complementary.
Students who are enrolled in the degree to which they are linked and who do not have any contractual relationship with the company may participate in them. Furthermore, in the case of curricular internships, they must not have passed the credits linked to them and not have made the deposit of the degree; and in extracurricular internships, they must not have covered the maximum credits of those internships and not have carried them out in the same entity in previous calls, unless the activity they are going to carry out is in a different program, unit or device, in a different unit or device or does not exceed the maximum limit of hours in that company. They cannot also have made the deposit of the degree.
During the internship period, students must develop the training project and prepare a final report. In addition, one of the degree’s professors will act as a tutor.
