Bioga, chaired by Jos\u00e9 Manuel L\u00f3pez Vilari\u00f1o and representing more than 130 stakeholders in the Galician biotech sector, will lead the BIOCHAINS Atlantic project, with a budget of \u20ac1.86 million. It will also be one of the main partners in CLIRAQUA, with a budget of \u20ac1.96 million, which will be coordinated by the Interdisciplinary Center for Chemistry and Biology (CICA) at the University of A Coru\u00f1a (UDC).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bioga will coordinate the BIOCHAINS Atlantic project, which will have a budget of \u20ac1.86 million. Its objective? To optimize and strengthen the value chains of microalgae and macroalgae from the Atlantic coasts of Spain, Portugal, France, and Ireland. This initiative aims to contribute to the development of the blue bioeconomy. Among the tasks that BIOCHAINS Atlantic will undertake are mapping stakeholders and regulatory challenges, creating digital models for managing resources and agents in the value chain, and validating prototypes for sectors such as food and cosmetics. This project will seek to improve the competitiveness of SMEs, promote innovation, boost cooperation between regions to consolidate market opportunities, and foster more resilient and sustainable growth in the Atlantic area.<\/p>\n<p>Who is involved in BIOCHAINS Atlantic? In addition to Bioga, which is the coordinating partner, there are six other main partners:<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/anfaco.es\/\"> ANFACO-CYTMA<\/a><\/strong> (Spain), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/glecex.com\/\">GLECEX<\/a> <\/strong>(Spain), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cataa.pt\/\">CATAA<\/a> <\/strong>(Portugal), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.wedotech.eu\/wp\/en\/\">WeDoTech<\/a><\/strong> (Portugal), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.biotech-sante-bretagne.fr\/\">Biotech Sant\u00e9 Bretagne<\/a><\/strong> (France), and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mtu.ie\/\">Munster Tecnological University<\/a><\/strong> (Ireland). Eleven other partners have also joined the project as associate partners: <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/cim.uvigo.gal\/\">Centro de Investigaci\u00f3n Mari\u00f1a<\/a><\/strong> (CIM) of the University of Vigo (Spain), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.domusvi.es\/\">DomusVi<\/a><\/strong> (Spain), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/viratec.gal\/\">Viratec<\/a><\/strong> (Spain), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bluebioalliance.pt\/\">BlueBio Alliance<\/a><\/strong> (Portugal), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.inovcluster.pt\/\">InovCluster<\/a><\/strong> (Portugal), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.clusteralgues-bretagne.com\/\">Cluster Algues Bretagne<\/a><\/strong> (France), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.chambre-syndicale-algues.org\/\">Chambre Syndicale des Algues et V\u00e9g\u00e9taux Marins<\/a><\/strong> (France), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.algolesko.com\/home\">Algolesko<\/a><\/strong> (France), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/bim.ie\/\">BIM Ireland\u2019s Seafood Development Agency<\/a><\/strong> (Ireland), <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kerrycoco.ie\/economic-development-unit\/\">Kerry County Council Economic<\/a><\/strong> (Ireland), and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/nutramara.com\/\">Nutramara<\/a><\/strong> (Ireland).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>The resilience of Atlantic aquaculture<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The CLIRAQUA project, led by CICA with Bioga as one of its main partners, has a budget of \u20ac1.96 million and will strengthen the resilience of Atlantic aquaculture to climate change by seeking ecosystem-based technological solutions. What tools will it rely on? Multitrophic aquaculture, the use of halophytes, the restoration of marine habitats, and early warning systems for diseases.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">CLIRAQUA will create a repository of climate and ecological data, interactive vulnerability maps, and management protocols.
