O Porri\u00f1o, June 27, 2024.-<\/strong> The Zendal group launches the V edition of its International Zendal Awards, the annual awards organized by the biopharmaceutical group. These awards were born in 2019 with the aim of boosting, making visible, promoting and recognizing new research projects in the field of human and animal health. Year after year, the number of nominations and projects has been growing gradually, which is a sign of the scientific quality of many of the research groups both nationally and internationally.<\/p>\n

These awards are open to institutions and work teams, both public and private. Two categories are established: human health, with 40,000 euros, and animal health, with 25,000 euros.<\/p>\n

For the awarding of the prizes, special consideration will be given to those candidates who have made relevant contributions in research, biotechnology and health with innovative solutions and a transformative capacity. In addition, in order to guarantee a choice in the most objective terms possible, factors such as the viability of the project, its applicability, and its contribution to the improvement of life in terms of progress and well-being will be taken into account.<\/p>\n

Nominations can be submitted until October 4 through the Zendal website, https:\/\/www.zendal.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n

A tribute award is also granted, aimed at recognizing a professional career. In this case, it is aimed at people who have contributed with their work and merits in the scientific area, to the development of vaccines and other health products, prevention, biotechnology and the One Health concept.<\/p>\n

Previous award winners include Mar\u00eda A. Blasco, director of the Spanish National Cancer Research Center (CNIO), Dr. \u00c1ngel Carracedo, director of the Galician Public Foundation of Xenomic Medicine (SERGAS-Xunta de Galicia), Mar\u00eda Vallet Reg\u00ed, head of the CIBER-BBN group at the Complutense University of Madrid or Inmaculada Ib\u00e1\u00f1ez de C\u00e1ceres, PhD in Molecular Biology.<\/p>\n

The jury will be formed by an International Scientific Committee made up of leading personalities in the field of biotechnology and health, as well as a president and a secretary of the Zendal Group.<\/p>\n
