Vigo is the capital of biotechnology<\/strong>. “And it is so because this city and its surroundings have an indisputable entrepreneurial and industrial character, here were born and developed some of the most relevant biotechnology projects of the national scene and also here the hybridization between biotechnology and other strategic sectors happens naturally”. This is highlighted by Jos\u00e9 Manuel L\u00f3pez Vilari\u00f1o, president of the Cl\u00faster Tecnol\u00f3xico Empresarial das Ciencias da Vida (Bioga). In addition, Vigo reaffirms this biotechnology capital by hosting Galicia Biodays, the reference forum for the biotechnology and Life Sciences industry in the European Atlantic Area organized by Bioga<\/strong>, at the Mar de Vigo Auditorium on June 12 and 13.<\/strong> “Vigo and Galicia Biodays will generate an ideal environment for the biotechnology sector to establish contacts and synergies, generate business, develop new projects and get in touch with investors and customers,” said Jos\u00e9 Manuel L\u00f3pez Vilari\u00f1o during the presentation of Galicia Biodays today in the auditorium of the Consorcio de la Zona Franca de Vigo. The presentation ceremony was attended by the Mayor of Vigo, Abel Caballero; the Regional Minister of Education, Science, Universities and Vocational Training, Rom\u00e1n Rodr\u00edguez; and the State delegate in the Vigo Free Trade Zone Consortium, David Regades.<\/p>\n It leads, for example, strategic areas for biotechnology such as drug development, functional food, personalized medicine or marine resources. The biotech event in Vigo will address, among others, issues such as drug development, innovation in food and cosmetics, entrepreneurship and financing of strategic projects and internationalization. In front of them they will have 25 entities or investment funds.
