Bioenergy Ib\u00e9rica has been in charge of the construction and will assume the operation and maintenance for this cheese factory.<\/h6>\n

The Queizuar cheese factory in A Coru\u00f1a will have the first biogas self-consumption plant. Bioenergy Ib\u00e9rica, a company specialized in the construction of renewable energy and waste management projects, has equipped the factory in the town of Bama with a facility that will be inaugurated in early 2024 and will generate 3,000,000 kWh of clean energy per year, avoiding the emission of more than 600 tons of CO2.<\/p>\n

Bioenergy Ib\u00e9rica will subsequently be responsible for the operation and maintenance of this facility.
\nWith this Bioenergy Ib\u00e9rica project, Queizuar is making a real commitment to decarbonization through the valorization of its own waste and by-products, such as lactose and sewage sludge, for the generation of clean energy, thus reducing the industry’s dependence on fossil fuels by 80%.<\/p>\n

Jos\u00e9 Luis Romero, Operations Director of Bioenergy Ib\u00e9rica, explained to elEconomista.es that Queizuar “is making a circular project a reality that will improve its energy balance with the use of its own energy, making it more competitive and resilient to the changes that are taking place in the global energy market”. “We work hard to find energy solutions that provide local energy and at the same time generate social impact in their area of operation, and this biogas project is an excellent example,” added Romero. “It is the sum of these projects that will allow us to achieve less dependence on fossil fuels, as well as to converge with the objectives set by the European Union and achieve an economy and a society free of CO2 emissions”, he concluded.
\nBenigno Pereira, founding partner of Queizuar cheeses, indicated that “This project will allow us to continue growing in a sustainable and circular way and to fulfill our objective, which is to produce traditional Galician cheeses using environmentally friendly technologies”.<\/p>\n
