Medrar coordinates the initiative, whose partners include Aresa, the USC and the Centro de Investigaci\u00f3ns Agrarias de Mabegondo.<\/h6>\n

The European Union will finance with 7 million Euros the Nutritive project to valorize the slurry in Galician farms, promoted by the innovation consultancy Medrar Innovation Office from Lugo and in which another company from the province of Lugo, the Aresa Group, specialized in fertilizers, participates.<\/p>\n

The consortium coordinated by Medrar that competed with this initiative to the R+D+i Horizon Europe program is integrated by 18 partners from several countries of the Old Continent, among them Portugal and Ireland, and other four from China. Among the requirements of the call for proposals is that the consortium that aspires to the grants must be made up of participants of different nationalities.<\/p>\n

In addition to these two firms from Lugo, Galicia is represented in this ambitious project by the Centro de Investigaci\u00f3ns Agrarias de Mabegondo (A Coru\u00f1a), which depends on the Axencia Galega de Calidade Alimentaria (Agacal); the biotechnological company Zinpro from Compostela and the USC, through the Biogroup research group of the Escola T\u00e9cnica Superior de Enxe\u00f1ar\u00eda (Etse) and the Faculty of Chemistry.<\/p>\n

The CEO and founder of Medrar, Hugo Criado, assures that slurry is \u00aba waste to which we can give value\u00bb, which is currently \u00abmanaged as it was 20 years ago\u00bb and which is causing \u00aba problem\u00bb in Galician regions such as A Limia (Ourense) or Deza (Pontevedra), for example.<\/p>\n

This veterinarian from Vilalba stresses the importance of this European Union grant \u00abnot only for economic reasons, but also for its impact because in three years\u2019 time we will be providing solutions to solve this problem\u00bb.<\/p>\n

\u00abThis R&D&I project includes 18 European partners and another four from China\u00bb.<\/h6>\n

Hugo Criado explains that the idea is to \u00abturn slurry into black gold\u00bb so that it provides \u00abadded value, so that the farmer gets paid and it is not an environmental problem\u00bb.<\/p>\n

This project, carried out by the PhDs in Chemical Engineering Leticia Regueiro and Lucia Argiz, specialized in environment, plans to model the typology of Galician farms because, according to Hugo Criado, \u00abyou can not apply the same standard to a SAT of A Pastoriza with 1,000 cows as an organic farm in A Ulloa of 50\u00bb.<\/p>\n

One of the possible uses that can be given to this waste generated by livestock farms, beyond as fertilizer, is for energy production in biogas plants.<\/p>\n

La consultora de innovaci\u00f3n Medrar, que\u00a0ech\u00f3 a andar hace un lustro en Vilalba<\/strong>\u00a0y que cuenta ahora tambi\u00e9n con sede en Lugo, ha dirigido en los \u00faltimos dos a\u00f1os m\u00e1s de una treintena de proyectos de I+D+i de empresas, incluido el de pur\u00edn, que obtuvieron unos 20 millones de euros en total en ayudas de diferentes administraciones p\u00fablicas.<\/p>\n

Una planta de biog\u00e1s que obtuvo financiaci\u00f3n<\/h6>\n

Hace apenas un mes trascend\u00eda que otro proyecto con firmas lucenses, denominado\u00a0Lugaz<\/strong>, que consiste en construir una planta de biog\u00e1s para utilizar residuos l\u00e1cteos, recibir\u00e1 4,5 millones de euros de la Uni\u00f3n Europea, con cargo a otro programa, para llevarlo a cabo en el plazo de dos a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

Esta iniciativa es \u00edntegramente lucense, pues participan el\u00a0Grupo Lence<\/strong>,\u00a0Norvento<\/strong>,\u00a0Agroamb<\/strong>\u00a0y\u00a0Medrar<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

La planta que se ubicar\u00e1 en el\u00a0pol\u00edgono industrial de O Ceao<\/strong>\u00a0supondr\u00e1 una inversi\u00f3n de unos 7,5 millones de euros, de los que la ayuda europea supone el 60%.<\/p>\n

Se prev\u00e9 que la planta trate una media de unas\u00a055.000 toneladas anuales de residuos<\/strong>, que proceder\u00edan de las\u00a0tres plantas l\u00e1cteas de Leche R\u00edo y Leyma<\/strong>\u00a0y de las 400 explotaciones ganaderas que son proveedoras de este grupo lucense.<\/p>\n

Adem\u00e1s se estima que esta planta permitir\u00e1 reducir la emisi\u00f3n a la atm\u00f3sfera de unas 37.300 toneladas de di\u00f3xido de carbono (CO\u00b2).<\/p>\n
